FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will head to Tampa, Florida this Saturday to dual with the University of Tampa Spartans in a Sunshine State Conference meet.
After a two week layoff from competition, the Sharks men will look to bounce back after a nail-biting loss to Indian River State College. NSU's women will look to continue their dominance, outscoring their last three opponents by a total of 372-269. The Spartans will look to get back on track after their men fell to Saint Leo University last weekend and their women tied.
Featuring 28 events, this weekend's rivalry matchup chalks up to be a thriller with both teams neck and neck in many of the events. The Sharks will dive into the weekend with an advantage in 20 of the 28 events. The events to keep a close eye on this weekend will be the fly, sprint and free events on the men's and women's side, as well as the 200-yard individual medley on the women's side.
NSU currently holds 11 top five times in NCAA Division II with the sophomore sensations
Thiago Sickert (Vila Velha, Brazil) and
Bryndis Hansen (Akureyri, Iceland) leading the way with a combined six individual top-5 times in DII.
